Provider and scope
ZTransfer for iOS is provided by 胡钰诗, an individual developer based in Xiamen, Fujian, China.
Privacy contact: yuui226@163.com.
Effective date: 2026-10-21.
This policy applies to the iOS app. Separate Android products and services are governed by their applicable policies. The app has no separate ZTransfer registration or sign-in account. Apple purchases and restoration require the relevant Apple account.
Photos and files
When you connect a camera and browse or transfer photos, the app processes file lists, thumbnails, selected files and metadata, such as file names, capture times, camera models and EXIF information. Metadata may contain shooting locations.
Photo effects process selected images, imported LUTs, filters, text and image watermarks on your device. Generated effect images may retain metadata from the source photo or camera, including capture time, camera information and GPS location. Turning off city or region labels, or phone GPS, does not automatically remove existing location metadata from source files or exported results. Check before sharing and use system or other tools to remove location information when needed.
You choose where to save results, subject to system authorization. iCloud Photos, cloud folders and other file providers may synchronize files according to your settings and their policies.
The app does not provide a feature for uploading photos or thumbnails to a developer-operated server. Photo place-name queries use coordinates as described below. Cloud storage, system synchronization, sharing and support attachments that you choose are separate from local image processing.
Camera connections and preferences
The app processes camera models, connection addresses, pairing state and communication identifiers to establish and restore connections. Some pairing identifiers are generated locally and shared with the connected camera.
Connection preferences, directory permissions, language, interface and effect settings, and free-use counters are stored locally. Camera-transfer effects and the local photo workbench retain separate preferences.
Location
When you enable GPS and grant permission, the app uses location information, including coordinates and available altitude, to provide shooting locations to compatible equipment. A camera may record these locations in photo metadata. People receiving those photos may be able to read the location.
Background location updates require the relevant authorization and enabled functionality. You can disable GPS in the app or revoke permission in Settings. This does not erase locations already written to photos or the camera.
Place-name lookups use Apple's geocoding service and may transmit the queried coordinates to Apple. These lookups are not entirely offline.
Separately, when photo-border city or region labels are enabled, the app may query Apple using coordinates embedded in the photo's EXIF metadata. These coordinates can differ from your phone's current location. Turning off phone GPS does not disable photo-border lookups; turn off both the city and region border options to stop those queries. The lookup uses coordinates and does not require sending the entire image as the query.
Apple's processing is governed by its applicable privacy information.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store purchases. The app uses StoreKit product information and verified transactions, including product and transaction identifiers, validity dates and revocation status, to provide and restore access.
Payment-card details and payment-account credentials entered into Apple's purchase interface are not provided to the developer through that interface. Apple may provide sales, financial and analytics reports to help the developer manage the app.
The app reads real purchase status from StoreKit and maintains entitlement information while running. It has no client interface that synchronizes transaction records to a developer-operated server. Apple's handling and retention of transactions are independent of local app data. If a developer transaction server or other recipient is introduced, the relevant information will be updated before it is enabled.
Support requests
If you email the developer, your email address, message and attachments are received to answer your request and investigate problems. Send only relevant information and remove unnecessary faces, locations or personal details from attachments.
The support mailbox is provided by NetEase 163 Mail.
Routine support records are retained for 12 months after the request is closed, after which content no longer needed is deleted. Records required for disputes or legal obligations are retained for the period actually necessary. You may request deletion, subject to required legal retention.
The developer currently does not submit support emails, chat messages, screenshots, logs or attachments to third-party AI or online translation services. Before introducing such a service, the developer will disclose the provider, information submitted, purposes and relevant retention arrangements, and verify the recipient’s safeguards. Any sharing of personal information with third-party AI will first be clearly disclosed and require your explicit permission.
Other feedback channels
The in-app feedback action copies the existing support QQ number, 953000922. It does not automatically send messages, photos or logs. Email is the primary public support contact; QQ remains an additional channel, and you do not need QQ to obtain email support.
QQ is provided by Tencent. If you choose to contact support through QQ, Tencent and the developer process the account information, messages and attachments you send. Support records held by the developer follow the retention and deletion rules above; QQ platform data is handled under its own service and privacy rules. Do not send unrelated personal information.
Diagnostics
The app does not integrate advertising, third-party analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs, and it does not automatically upload diagnostic logs to a developer-operated server. Depending on your system sharing settings or TestFlight use, Apple may provide diagnostics, analytics or test feedback to help the developer investigate issues and improve the app. This is distinct from a developer-operated analytics service. Screenshots, logs and feedback you send should contain only information needed for troubleshooting.
Permissions and choices
- Local-network access enables compatible wireless camera discovery and communication.
- Bluetooth connects compatible GPS equipment.
- Location and background-location permissions enable shooting-location updates.
- Camera-device access supports USB camera browsing, transfer and control.
- Photo selection or photo-library access enables selected image imports; permission to add photos enables saving results.
- File and directory authorization enables access to locations you select.
Manage permissions in iOS Settings. The system photo picker is distinct from full photo-library authorization. Denying a permission affects features that depend on it.
Recipients and websites
Camera and control data can pass between your device and your connected camera. Apple services support purchases and place-name queries. Cloud providers and sharing recipients depend on your choices.
The privacy and support website is hosted on GitHub Pages, separately from the Android licensing backend. The host may process visitor IP addresses, browser information and access logs under its privacy statement. The iOS policy and support pages contain static text, links and local styles; the existing website home page also uses local scripts for visual animations. These pages include no analytics scripts, advertising, upload forms or code that sets additional cookies. This does not replace the host’s practices for access logs.
The app does not include targeted advertising or cross-app advertising tracking. External services described here include Apple's location/place-name, purchase and user-selected system services, NetEase support email, Tencent QQ if you choose to use it, and GitHub Pages. Other file providers and sharing recipients you choose have their own information-handling practices. Support content is currently not sent to third-party AI or online translation services.
The developer may disclose information actually held when required by applicable law.
Storage and deletion
Local settings, pairing data and caches remain in the app's device storage according to their purpose, cleanup behavior and system storage management. Deleting the app normally removes its local app data, but offloading, backups, cloud synchronization and other providers may retain information separately.
Files saved to your photo library, external folders or camera card are not automatically deleted when the app is deleted. Manage those files and their backups in the relevant location. App deletion does not cancel subscriptions or delete Apple's transaction records.
Camera-cache sessions trigger cleanup of camera thumbnail directories that have been idle for approximately 90 days and invalid temporary files. This is not a fixed 90-day retention period for every photo. Private LUT copies remain while referenced by saved effect settings or active work; unreferenced copies may be removed during cleanup. Imported watermark images are saved as private app files, and turning off watermark display does not delete those files. There is no single in-app control that clears all of these categories.
Contact the privacy email to request access, correction or deletion of support information held by the developer. Requests are handled with proportionate verification and in accordance with applicable requirements. Data held only on your device or by another provider must be managed there.
Children, security and updates
Minors should use the app with guardian guidance and obtain permission for purchases. Guardians can contact the developer about information a child has provided.
The app is intended for general photography users and is not specifically directed at children. App Store age ratings are determined from actual features and applicable local rating rules; a rating does not replace guardian guidance about use or purchases.
The developer will use safeguards appropriate to the information processed. Protect your devices, camera, network and backups, and avoid transferring sensitive material to untrusted devices or networks.
Updates to this policy will appear with a revised effective date. Where required, changes in processing will be accompanied by notice or consent.
